Holmes sweet Holmes! Also, Welcome Holmes! Oh, and Holmes is where the heart is! Can we stretch this wordplay any further? We're not here to debate the elastic properties of puns, we're here to coo over kittens! So, we'll stop kitten around and introduce you to the newest members of our cat-café clowder...
Meet Sherlock, Watson and Moriarty! As you may know if you've been a friend of the Cat Emporium for a while, we tend to group siblings together by naming them after characters from a book or books by a British author. It's a litter-ary tradition! In this case, we've named the three boy kittens we recently adopted after characters from Arthur Conan Doyle's detective novels.
The adorable kittens in our "Holmes litter" are about 5 months old and came to us via a cat lover whose friend's cat gave birth to the kittens. The woman who contacted us also attempted to find a home for the boys through placing them in a cat shelter, but the shelters she knew of were overburdened. We were in a position to help, so our Chief Cat Carer was thrilled to be able to offer the kittens a home at Lady Dinah's!
The kittens have been in our care for a couple of weeks now and we are totally smitten with them. They are very inquisitive and playful, as you might expect from kittens, and they're also quite affectionate. As always, we are allowing our new arrivals to set the pace when it comes to meeting the other cats in our cat-café colony. The boys have spent some time exploring the café and they've not been shy about playing with staff and customers or hanging out with the adult cats. It's been wonderful to witness their shenanigans!
What's more, two of the kittens bear striking resemblances to two of our adult cats: Sherlock looks a lot like Hippo, and Watson reminds us of Lysander. Hippo is also new to the Emporium, so it's been nice to see him interacting with other newbies, though it's fair to say that Hippo is more mellow than these energetic little tykes! Moriarty doesn't look like any of our other cats (you know... aside from the whiskers, paws and so on), but that's not surprising given that he's the first grey cat to live at the Emporium! All of our moggies are rescue cats and it just so happens that he's the first grey cat to have come looking for a home with us.
If you visit Lady Dinah's soon, you may be lucky enough to spot the kittens as they explore their new surroundings. At the time of writing (July 4th 2023) they're not out in the main café area full-time, but we're expecting them to integrate quite quickly. The boys are raring to go and excited to meet you!

Absolutely love these articles! I applaud you for all your hard work (cats and restaurant), but mainly for being there for them when others would not. Thank you and bless you all, Lady D’s staff!
