This week we said our farewells to the gorgeous Charlie!
Charlie was the 86th cat to be taken in by the Cafe, we took him into our care in October 2023. He has enjoyed a delightful year with us and we’re so happy to have found him the perfect family.
Charlie was a tiny stray rescue kitten, who was found by our boilerman! He quickly grabbed him off the streets and brought him to the London Cat Cafe in a bucket! That's how Charlie got him name - Charlie Bucket!
The little tabby made himself very popular straight away and had no trouble making both cat and human friends! Since day one he was super friendly, cuddly and very very playful! Feather toys were one of his favourite preys!
If you had the pleasure of meeting Charlie, we hope you will have seen some of his best moves. All of us at Lady Dinah’s Cat Cafe London are going to miss him enormously and we will especially miss:
1.We will miss his intensity at treat times
2. We will miss how he liked to snuggle and play with his friends
3. We will miss his shoulder rides
4. We will miss how he was always first in line for dinner, and his commitment to a proper British orderly queue system
5. We will miss seeing him enjoy the warm morning sunshine on his belly
Charlie was adopted from us on Thursday November 21st and has already made himself at home. His new family have sent us an update with some photos.
Wishing a beautiful life to the beautiful Charlie!
As with every adoption, it is a bittersweet change for us at the Cat Cafe. We will miss lovely Charlie, but he now has a wonderful new family and we're chuffed to bits to see him so relaxed already.
Moreover, his departure creates future capacity to rescue, help nurture and rehome another cat, and this is especially important in the cat adoption world for the early months of the year, post-Christmas. As some of you might know, the post-Christmas period can be unfortunate for a lot of pets around the world.
Recent data from the UK's leading cat welfare charity has sadly revealed a 30% rise in cat abandonment and we at the London Cat Cafe try to help with abandoned cats whenever we have capacity.
