All of our cats and kittens are rescue cats, coming from all walks of life. Our goal is to aid in socialising young felines to be confident, happy cats, and to be a fulfilling, fun and nurturing long-term foster home until they are successfully rehomed.
The cats and/or Kittens that we currently house are our residents. This means that the café is their home for as long as they are happy living here!
At Lady Dinah's, having a stable clowder helps to keep our cats happy and minimise any stress that changes can bring. This in turn means that we get to know our cats extremely well, and our favourite thing is chatting all about them!
Our residents’ behaviours are constantly monitored by our team of trained cat carers, who are experts in determining when they are ready to move on from café life.

Daz
Amongst sunbathing his days away in the windows, he loves a good fuss, but be a little careful as he can get himself overexcited! Daz loves other cats and we've noticed that our other new arrivals grow in confidence when Daz is around them. He's a perfect playmate and is like a big brother to our Kittens. Its not uncommon to find him playing and cuddling with them or following them around the cafe (and vice versa)!
Daz is a little bit of a lazybones, so it can be hard to play with him, though if you're lucky, a good feather toy under a mat can bring out the little tiger in him!
Daz is also very vocal, and can often be found walking around the café singing and chirping to himself and the cat carers when they call his name.
Daz is one of our permanent residents.
Daz hasn't let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Agatha
Agatha has established herself as the cafe's Princess - our little tuxedo knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it! She's got a delicate, but demanding voice and can often be found chirping at the cat carers to grant her wishes.
When she's in the mood, she'll happily rub her face against her adoring fans' ankles or hop onto their laps for some fuss. She is not all laid back, however - and loves a good pay with her favourite piece of ribbon or string.
Rosalind
Little Rosalind is tiny but mighty! She has bundles of energy and loves to chase plastic springs around the café. She'll even have a quick run on the cat wheel when she's in the mood! Rosalind is a gorgeous girl and she knows it - during the day, she can most likely be found people-watching or snoozing from her favourite bed or in the window, delighting the adoring people of Bethnal Green as they pass the café!
Rosalind is known to fancy piggybacks, and if you're lucky, she may clamber onto your back and shoulders and expect you to parade her around the café.
Rosalind hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Legolas
Though this sweet girl may look angelic, don't let her innocent face fool you- she thrives on mischief! Along with her sister Merry, Legolas loves playfully annoying her siblings and stealing other cats’ toys!
When it's time to chill, however, is nothing this sweet girl loves more than a fuss and a cuddle. If Legolas chooses you, beware; she'll snuggle down and fall into a deep sleep before you know it! Watch out though... Legolas has a bit of a thing for human food and no matter how adorable she may look, make sure she doesn't try to steal your scones!
Legolas is ready to be rehomed and we will be launching her adoption questionnaire soon!
Gimli
This dainty little lacy loves to prance around the café delighting her adoring audience. For such an elegant lady, she has a very loud and demanding voice, and can be heard yelling at the cat carers for piggybacks and to be paraded around the café.
If she's not being flourished with love, she'll be more than content lazing around in a fluffy bed with her long legs dangling. Like her sister Legolas, Gimli is a sly fox and enjoys mischief from time to time, so there always needs to be an extra eye watching out for her and her fiendish ways!
Gimli hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Merry
Her enormous ears and acrobatic sleeping positions are often what first draw our guests to little Merry. She's all about playtime and the best way to her heart is through dangling a toy in her direction rather than giving her a cuddle!
Merry loves to show off her jumping ability, so flick a toy in the air and watch her leap after it!
Merry is very chatty and loves the sound of her own name. She is often seen flirting with guests and demanding that the cat carers give her her personal massage that comes in the form of firm butt pats. It's unconventional, but Merry likes what she likes!
Merry hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Pippin
Whilst her sisters are more rambunctious, Pippin enjoys the lazy life, and is often seen dozing or lazing around on the high shelves and her favourite beds to simply be admired.
When gracing her adoring fans with her presence, however, Pippin is also partial to a cuddle or two, and her favourite beds tend to be the coats and bags of guests - watch out, or shell be fast asleep on your jacket in no time!
Pippin hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Coraline
Once we were confident that she was a stray, we decided to adopt this sweet little lady and give her a name. We chose 'Coraline' because much like the titular character in Neil Gaiman's novella, she has a wildly adventurous spirit. She is not fussy about her toys and is very chatty about them - you'll know you've got a good toy if you hear her chattering excitedly!
Coraline is also a massive foodie, and is often seen trying to persuade the cat carers to bring out lunch or dinner early.
Coraline hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Hippo
Hippo is a rare case at the Emporium we loved his given name so much, that we decided to keep it! Like an actual, his is a rather large boy, but 2 gentle giant. Hippo loves to chatter whilst he plays and chase around toys that you throw for him!
Sherlock
to the other cats immediately!
Like his namesake, Sherlock is curious and independent (the similarities end there; we're happy to report that he doesn't smoke a pipe or regularly get embroiled in murder investigations). He's a cheeky chap and loves to Sherlock
Sherlock hasn't let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Watson
Moriarty
Don't be misled by his name: Moriarty is a lovely boy and has no enmity with Sherlock! Moriarty joined the Lady Dinah's family with his brothers in June 2023 and has settled in wonderfully.
Moriarty is a tad more introverted than his brothers but is still very affectionate. When napping in his favourite spot, his grey fur can blend in with the brown-grey "bark" of the enchanted tree in our wonderland-themed basement, making him hard to spot. When not doing his low-key "impurrsonation" of the Cheshire Cat, Moriarty loves playing with his favourite toy: a neon pink wiggly worm.
Moriarty hasn’t let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you’re interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Oliver
Oliver! This magnificent boy is a drama king worthy of his stage-musical name. He can be rather mischevious and is highly motivated by food GLORIOUS food! He enjoys zooming around the Emporium and also yelling at our cat carers. He takes it upon himself to remind them that meals are to be served periodically, and he's forthright about the fact that he'd like for them to be served with increasing frequency.
In addition to being an avid foodie, Oliver is a sucker for fuss. He can be rather affectionate when he's not distracted by the prospect of snacks.
Oliver hasn't let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Tao
Tao arrived at the Emporium with his sisters, Elle and Darcy, in October of 2023. This trio is known collectively as our Heartstopper litter as each kitten was named after characters from Alice Oseman's Heartstopper series. The siblings were brought to us because the family who'd originally adopted them realised that they wouldn't be able to care for them.
Tao is particularly playful and we noticed early on that he had a penchant for stealing his sisters' toys! Now that he has access to every member of the Lady Dinah's clowder, he loves to roughhouse with other boisterous cats such as Watson and Charlie.
Tao hasn't let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Darcy
Darcy is the most confident member of the Heartstopper litter. When she first arrived with Tao and Elle, we noticed that her siblings were more nervous than she was. Darcy was quick to trust us, which helped her siblings to feel comfortable in their new surroundings, too. We soon
discovered that she's very fond of licky treats, which helped us to get her on side!
Darcy is a super sweet little lady who loves to cuddle up to her playmate Charlie, who is another kitten who came to live at the Emporium towards the end of 2023. If you're lucky, you'll see Darcy jump! She likes to show off her skills as a natural-born acrobat.
Darcy hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing announcements!
Elle
It took a little while for Elle to warm up to us at first, but we are really pleased with the progress she's made. She's still shy at times, but she can be very vocal once she's feeling confident. Now that she's at ease with our staff members, she likes to yell at them for playtime and dry food.
Elle is also partial to what we call "Bird TV", which means that she enjoys watching YouTube videos of birds. It's not particularly riveting stuff for humans, but this qualifies as positively thrilling viewing for kittens. To be fair, we're not sure Elle would be that impressed by our comfort shows either! The only "will they/won't they' that's of interest to Elle is will they/won't they give me a treat.
Elle hasn't let us know that she's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing
announcements!
Charlie
Charlie is a charming tabby boy of humble origins: he arrived at Lady Dinah's in a bucket in October of 2023. The sight of this stray kitten melted our hearts and we were very happy that we could offer him a home at the Emporium.
The Charlie Bucket in Roald Dahl's story got a gold ticket to visit a chocolate factory, but we think a cat emporium is infinitely superior to this! Charlie seems to agree as he's been making the most of living with us. He's been bursting with energy and purrsonality since his first day in our care. This boy is full of beans and loves to explore and make friends with both cats and humans.
Charlie hasn't let us know that he's ready to be re-homed yet, but if you're interested in adopting, join our mailing list here for re-homing
announcements!
